THE INDUSTRY GROUP AGREEMENT TO THE COD FISHING IN THE NORTHERN PART OF THE NORTH-EAST ATLANTIC ANNOUNCED AS 2017 RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS OCEANS AWARD WINNER
January 13, 2017The Oceans Award 2017 for Responsible Business has been awarded to the North Atlantic Industry group for its’ longstanding commitment to sustainable fisheries management of the Northern Barents Sea Fisheries.
Atlantikas’ parent company NOREBO (formerly known as KARAT Group) has introduced a self-imposed precautionary ban on fishing in potentially vulnerable areas from May 2016.
NOREBO is a part of the Industry Group, which is an international group of harvesters, trade associations, unions, processors, manufacturers and retailers.

NOREBO is a part of the Industry Group, which is an international group of harvesters, trade associations, unions, processors, manufacturers and retailers. The group reached an agreement, that will ensure the ongoing protection of potentially sensitive areas of the North-East Atlantic Ocean.
The Ocean Awards, held in partnership with Blue Marine Foundation, celebrates individuals, companies, legislators and projects that have made outstanding contributions to the health of the oceans.
